TOKYO, July 30, 2026 – Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that it will establish a new U.S. company, MEHITS US, Inc., in August to manufacture IT Cooling equipment in Mason, Ohio. MEHITS US will operate under the holding company Mitsubishi Electric US Holdings, Inc. to meet growing demand for IT Cooling systems in the United States, a market expected to continue expanding.
MEHITS US will invest approximately USD 30 million in its manufacturing facilities by renovating and repurposing part of a production facility operated by Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of automotive electrical equipment. Production is scheduled to begin in April 2027. Mitsubishi Electric plans to grow its IT Cooling systems business by establishing production in the United States, the world’s largest market, and by strengthening its one-stop service capabilities, which provides integrated support from system design proposals for IT Cooling equipment to sales and maintenance.
Currently, Mitsubishi Electric’s industrial infrastructure business in the United States is led by Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc., which provides IT Cooling equipment in combination with power supply systems, including uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), to its customers. The IT Cooling systems are developed and manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A., headquartered in Italy.
With the establishment of MEHITS US, Mitsubishi Electric will establish a local production system for IT Cooling equipment in the United States, increasing local competitiveness by shortening lead times from production to delivery. In addition, Mitsubishi Electric will ensure a stable product supply, develop products based on local customer needs such as energy savings and high efficiency, and expand its product lineup to include equipment compatible with liquid cooling. Furthermore, by enhancing its system design proposal and maintenance capabilities and strengthening its one-stop service capabilities, the company aims to expand its IT Cooling systems business in the United States.
In recent years, investment in AI-related infrastructure has been expanding in the United States, driven by the widespread adoption of generative AI. As a result, demand is increasing for industrial infrastructure facilities that enable related equipment to operate stably and energy-efficiently. IT Cooling systems are expected to continue growing as a promising field.
Mitsubishi Electric is strengthening its one-stop service capabilities for IT Cooling business in the United States and other regions worldwide through proactive collaborations, acquisitions, and other initiatives. Mitsubishi Electric will continue to promote the global expansion of its IT Cooling systems business, contributing to the stable operation and improved energy efficiency of industrial infrastructure facilities.
In addition, Mitsubishi Electric aims to provide total solutions by promoting company-wide business collaboration, including the integration of IT Cooling solutions with components such as power supply equipment.
